A vibrant, contemporary space where the use of bold colour meets playful design. This stylish spot is as fun as it is functional, making it a perfect fit for the lively local crowd.
Studio Jim’s design process began with an in-depth consultation to understand the client’s vision and the unique characteristics of Didsbury. That brief was then developed into a concept that merged the client’s needs with the local style. Using 3D modelling software, detailed visualisations were created, allowing the client to see how the elements would work together and to make informed decisions.
The design seamlessly blends high street finds with standout high-end pieces, salvaged items, and custom-made elements to achieve the perfect balance. This approach thoughtfully respects the budget while ensuring high quality is maintained.
The bold colour palette is grounded by the Douglas Fir flooring and a calming neutral backdrop on the walls and ceilings. Valchromat was used to construct the drawer units, a material that is cost-effective and has long-lasting durability, essential in a retail setting. Hand-painted signage and wayfinding add a personal, handcrafted touch.
To enhance the customer experience, the volume of eyewear on display was intentionally reduced. The stylists are expertly trained in understanding a customer's needs and will gather a select group of frames from either the displays or the large stock within the drawers. This allows for a more tailored approach to each client.
These curvy displays are accented by a simple wall paint effect to zone and anchor the retail area. Robust folded steel shelves, overlaid with feature cut-out circles and powder-coated finishes, add product focus and high durability
The space is further softened with the addition of plants, cosy cushions, books, carefully selected objects, and a diverse mix of custom-framed artwork - bringing warmth and comfort.
